There is no Ford procedure for rebuilding the bottom end, so you have to adapt to rebuild it yourself. I am talking to an ECU manufacturer at the moment regards the purchase of one of their ECU's and I have a couple of concerns before I spend money. 1 The engine is from a 2006 low millage Focus Sports and I do not have the sequence key number

1. First start out by locating and removing a little 10mm bolt on the bottom-right backside of the engine block (above oil pan) 2. Next screw the timing pin that came with your kit into the hole (If you get one of the old kits that comes with two pins, it's the longer one).

I've installed a Focus Sport Intake System and now I'm looking to further my upgrades. I was thinking exhaust and headers as my next step.

A 2.3 Duratec piston is dished whereas a 2.0 Duratec is flat. Putting a flat piston in a 2.3 engine will raise compression to approximately 11.2 to 1. Flat pistons may have to have a reliefs cut into them to allow for valve heads if more aggressive cams are used. KSGerry.

As it got louder though it sounded like it was coming from the clutch area. And when I push the clutch the knocking all but goes away and i can feel it in the pedal. The pedal can regulate the sound as well. Light touch, gets 3/4 of the noise, push the pedal to 1/2 and get 1/2 the noise and so on. Jeff. Belt maintenance (as far as changing the belt and tensioner goes) is designed to be performed from the bottom and top of the car. Doing so will just add an unnecessary step!! First, the belt routing diagram. Mine is hand drawn and is specific to the 08 Duratec. I dunno if its the same for all 2.0L's from 05-11.
509 posts 路 Joined 2005. #18 路 Apr 7, 2008. What ever plug you choose gap them at .060, the coil-on plug ignition can easily handle it. I still have my original pulgs in from '05 gaped at .060, it runs fine and get around 30 mpg with a Stealth CAI, custom exhaust and 17" rims.
